Our Work
WIC is a free federal program that offers nutritional supports to families with children under age 5. However, in a few key areas of Dallas, the program was under-enrolled. The City of Dallas Office of Community Care hired Groundwork DFW to conduct a Community Engagement Campaign via door-knocking to increase awareness around the 3 clinics.
Groundwork collaborated with local nonprofits, school districts, and the community to better understand community needs around early childhood education. Using insights from a combination of community meetings and surveying, Groundwork Outreach was able to recommend co-creation of a community literacy center.
Through a generous grant by The Commit Partnership, Groundwork was brought in to support the boots-on-the-ground portion of the county-wide PreK DFW enrollment campaign.
